Dr. Mandelbaum has shown me that even though I am in pain, I am worthy of doing things. Sometimes I feel that I have pain and even by doing something small, I can accomplish something. I realize that pain will always be there. That does not mean that I cannot be motivated. I can accomplish something. I have been trying to find alternatives to be more independent and I can do things in a relaxed way. Even I if I must do it slowly, I am finding ways to accomplish things on my own. I never used to smile following my trauma. After discussions with Dr. Mandelbaum and doing exercises to help my thoughts and behaviors, I feel at peace. Dr. Mandelbaum has helped me a lot to smile and to find some joy, peace, and tranquility, and to not focus on the trauma.
