Dr. Mandelbaum is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. Here’s what you need to know:
- Payment: Due at the time of service.
- Superbill: A receipt (superbill) will be provided for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits.
- Out-of-Network Benefits: Contact your insurance provider to check coverage for out-of-network services.
Additionally, Dr. Mandelbaum has access to resources that can assist in facilitating out-of-network inquiries with insurance companies, helping you navigate potential reimbursement options.
What can I expect during my first session?
During the first session, we will discuss your concerns, goals for therapy, and any past experiences with therapy. This helps me understand your unique needs and develop a personalized treatment plan.
What is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)?
DBT is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that focuses on meeting goals effectively by managing emotions, improving relationships, and building skills to handle distress and difficult situations.
How long does psychotherapy usually take?
Psychoherapy duration varies for each person, depending on individual goals and challenges. Some clients may need short-term therapy for specific issues, while others benefit from longer-term treatment for deeper emotional work.
Where will my sessions take place?
Sessions take place either in-person or via teletherapy. Since Dr. Mandelbaum is authorized through PSYPACT, he can help clients in 43 states.
Do you offer virtual or telehealth sessions?
Yes, I offer telehealth sessions to clients across 43 states, providing convenient access to therapy from the comfort of your home or another location of your convenience
How do I know if therapy is right for me?

What is trauma-informed care?
Trauma-informed care acknowledges the impact of trauma on mental health and focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment to promote healing and resilience.
Who do you typically work with?
I specialize in working with professionals in business, tech, law, healthcare, the arts, education, emerging adults, and university students, particularly those who are highly sensitive and intelligent.
How much does psychotherapy cost?
I offer private pay and Out-of-Network (OON) options. During our 20-minute complimentary phone consultation, we will discuss fees, along with an OON benefits estimate, to help determine your total out-of-pocket amount. Flex spending and Heath Savings Accounts are also possible payment options.
I work full-time. Can I get an evening appointment?
Evening appointments are available in addition to meeting times throughout the day.
